Appearance

General Appearance: A small but robust tom with prominent muscles over a lithe Angora build. His deceptively soft, long fur is primarily red-ginger with darker extremities and white bicolour markings (including a totally white left hind leg.) His eyes are emerald green, and he wears a bronze ‘armlet’ inset with a triangle-cut piece of (formerly green) nandryxite. His alder leaf tattoo is apple green.

Build: Atsasda has taken his father's musculature and turned it into broad shoulders and a lean build, with an adult height of 9.5" at the shoulder. His fur has grown out long on his tail, elbows, and as a 'ruff' around his neck, with the rest of it medium length.

Detailed Colouration: A striking, bright red-ginger dominates the tom's pelt, obviously inherited direct from his mother. A darker ginger adorns his ears, both forepaws, left hind paw, and the last quarter of his tail. His right forepaw's dark ginger is almost covered by white, while his left forepaw merely has white toes. White also covers his muzzle, running down his chest, belly and tail, and down his right hind leg, covering the appendage completely. The white on the underside of his tail culminates in a white tip, while a flash of white tops his left ear, as well as linings around his eyes. Those eyes are a complex green that seems to fade from grassy to light olive. A pretty pink nose completes the picture.

General Personality: Timid, but kind and caring, even motherly towards younger cats.

Confident
- - - Atsasda was able to regain his confidence after his near-death experience with a Fisher, but it is a more mellow, assured confidence now. No longer does he overestimate himself - he knows what he is and is not capable of, and takes comfort in this knowledge. However, the extra confidence he once kept for himself has not been lost - instead, he's transferred it to those around him. He's begun to see what other cats have to offer themselves and the world, and will attempt to boost their morale if they do not realise it themselves.


Prideful
- - - Ats' confidence still translates into pride, but it is a more mature pride that extends more to his Tribe and Tribemates than to himself now. He would be nothing without his Tribe. The day the Spirits were reborn in his youth, he saw the new Earth-Spirit up close, and felt Their power and connection to the world around them. While he lost sight of this, the incident with the Fisher and Dexter's firm friendship re-awakened the memory and sensation. He still has moments of pride in himself, and he can be a little too adamant about how great Earth-Tribe is, but it's not near as bad as he used to be.


Responsible
- - - Once bold and adventurous, Ats now truly understands the dangers in the world around them, and respects them. He will still stand strong in the face of certain dangers, such as cave-ins or times of hardship, especially when others need him, but he knows he is no Soldier, and sometimes running is an option. If retreating means living to fight another day, then it is worth fleeing. He does still struggle with the idea, though, and it may take some time before he fully comes to terms with it. He will, however, willingly share this point of view with those he feels should know it, and is now adamant that anyone not trained to defend themselves should have someone with them when outside of camp.


Athletic
- - - Ats loves to exercise when he's not working or resting with his Tribemates. Though he prefers to have a jogging partner, he is perfectly capable of going out on his own now. If he is feeling more cautious, however, he'll find other ways of staying in shape - running laps near the camp, physically pushing (small) boulders around without aid of his powers, stretching. If any kittens or apprentices are playing, he'd be tempted to join in, even if he's only a referee of sorts. If you asked those cats who know him well enough, they'd probably say that if anyone were to invent a new athletic game (aka, sport) for the Tribes, it would likely be Ats. Not that he would know how to implement much of what he comes up with, but he'd likely ask the Scholars to help figure it out.


Serious
- - - After past incidents, Ats now understands when it's time for seriousness, and will drop any pretense of flippancy without a second thought. He is also able to completely acknowledge his weaknesses and shortcomings without worrying about others hearing, realising that everyone has their own weaknesses, and that these are just as important as a cat's strengths. He's begun to think things through more often, on impulse - after all, it was a carelessly casual thought to go for his usual jog without checking the sky, leading to him nearly freezing to death after being attacked.


Mildly Ambitious (Diminished trait)
- - - Ats still retains some ambition, but it is very mild now. He knows he is good at his job and believes he has the potential to be one of the best Head Miners in Earth-Tribe history, though he would prefer to still have Dexter at his side. He once considered becoming Deputy to be his greatest ambition, but only if he earns it; he doubts it will ever happen, however, and is content with that. Now his main ambition is to simply excel at his job, and hopefully have many future apprentices her can train into more great Miners.


Loyal
- - - Perhaps a stronger trait than even his confidence, Ats is extremely loyal to Earth-Tribe. It is borderline blind loyalty - the only reason it's not, is because his loyalty is to the Tribe itself and the Spirit, rather than specific leaders. He respects and follows whoever the current Silver and Gold are, but they may lose that respect if they lose the position by leaving or having it taken from them by the Spirit. (Those who die or retire, however, will remain respected.) Indeed, Ats views any sign of disloyalty from others with distinct ire and disgust - the very idea of being disloyal is abhorrent to him, and he's not afraid to share his views. This goes for any cat of any Tribe - part of why he once disliked Void-Tribe so much was because he believed it's creation fostered disloyalty. After all, most of those who joined it were from other Tribes, which meant they were being disloyal to their former Tribes by joining Void-Tribe. However, because of his great loyalty to his own Earth-Tribe, any cat who shows disloyalty to Earth-Tribe is considered the lowest of the low in Ats' mind, and he would not hesitate to confront them about it, should they ever meet.


Tempered
- - - Ats will forever have a personality akin to fire, but that fire has been tempered by the Fisher incident and a realisation of how much Dexter - a cat of Water and Air - means to him. Just as a sword must be tempered by hot coals and warm oil, so Ats had to experience a quenching of his inner fire and the warmth of his mate's devotion before he could fully mature. He remains passionate about his work and Tribe, but it is a calmer passion which no longer rages, but crackles smoothly. His entire personality, which stemmed from his fiery nature, has been affected by this tempering.


Hardworking
- - - Ats might enjoy athletics, but his true passion is his work as a Miner. He boasts a strong work ethic, a matter of great personal pride, and dislikes those who show laziness and the tendency to slack. Indeed, he spends most of the day in the Mines, working away at the stone to help uncover those precious metals that gain Earth-Tribe fortune and recognition. He also keeps a fairly rigid schedule for himself, sticking to it every day unless he is ill or has a serious matter to attend. On occasion, he'll forgo his daily exercise to instead work more or simply hang out with his Tribemates.


Outgoing
- - - Ats loves being around others, and while he still seems to have a bit of trouble actually making new friends, he will actively seek out others to talk to, especially newcomers and his fellow Miners. While he used to only like talking about his personal interests, he's more open now to other subjects and tries to listen more. He still can't help but get bored sometimes, however, and may attempt to change topic...unless the other conversation members are enthusiastic, in which case he's begun to try and feign interest to please them.


Resolute
- - - Ats' stubbornness may never truly leave, but it's been tempered into the kind of willfulness that makes him dependable and strong, rather than obstinate. When he sets his mind to something, he won't let anything stand in his way. This was increased by his perceived failure at keeping his word to Dexter, due to the Fisher incident. He believes he gave up, and had he not be found, he would have died - leaving Dexter alone to grieve after the other tom had already lost someone close to him. This strengthened Ats' resolve to always keep his word, and if he promises to do something, he'll try everything he can to make sure he never fails again.

- - - A season later, plague and total destruction ravage all of Nandryx. Though worried for his mate and kits beyond the Tribes, Ats cannot leave Earth-Tribe when so much is at stake. Eventually, the Door appears, with the Spirits using all their vital force to hold it open, allowing safe passage into a brand new world. Ats follows his Tribe and remaining offspring, hoping with all his heart that the rest of his family will find their way...

Post-Restart - Havensake History

Y106-Summer - Ats settles in Earth-Tribe's new territory with the rest of his Tribe. He spends most of his time wandering around, looking for a good location to start digging a new Mine.

Y106-Summer - Later, a new cat joins the Tribe as a Miner apprentice - Ats is named as this 'Suraya's' mentor. He makes a point to be a strict but understanding mentor, hoping that this time he doesn't let his new apprentice down...

Y106-Autumn - Dexter returns, and the reunion is glorious as far as Ats is concerned <3

Y106-Autumn - Suraya decides to change professions and become a Ranger, with Ats' blessing. Ats is a little sad, but he knows this time it was not due to him failing. Suraya has her own path, and she is still in the Tribe, for which Ats is grateful.

Y107-Spring - Ats spends most of the Spring working on the Mines and a new Tunnel that could bring many new opportunities to the Tribe. He also enjoys spending time with Dexter, and with his granddaughter, Gil Jr. (Morri)

Y107-Summer - Ats receives a new apprentice, Naithaira. His Soul Mate, Dexter, also receives an apprentice, something Ats is pleasantly amused by. He thinks it will be interesting, training them together.

Y107-Summer - A meteor shower destroys Earth-Tribe's camp and starts fires in the Peaceful Fields, which spread across much of Earth-Tribe's southern territory. Ats makes it to safety with the rest of the Tribe, sheltering at Lyrical Falls - he sustains minor injuries from the meteors and smoke inhalation.
Ats spends his time reinforcing the new temporary camp, using his powers, then turns his attention to organising the Miners in order to help rebuild the main Camp and the Mines...

Y107-Summer - Cats throughout the Tribes start turning Grey (tattoos) - the change is accompanied in many by drastic changes in their personalities. Ats is tasked with keeping watch over one such Grey-Earth, his granddaughter Morri. It is...not an easy position.

Y107-Autumn - Absinthe corrupts cats, various Spirits (Light, Shadow, Water, Void). Releases Demogorgon upon the land. Rhea dies, Naga dies but is revived. Tribes fight the corrupted Spirits to release them. Tribes and Spirits fight Sin and Demo. Many cats die but are able to be brought back by the Spirits' graces. Victory. Absinthe made a Half-Spirit.
Ats plays a primarily supportive role, creating barriers, safe zones, and shielding his fellow Tribecats where possible.
